Fresh Snow in Winter 2000/2001
CNW locomotives at work in Boone, IA
This update was originally posted in January 2001, and was accidently

6866yd.jpg I took a break from studying for exams at Iowa State one morning with
fresh snow on the ground with hopes of catching an "all-CNW" lashup
on MPRCB. I caught the train as it doubled out of Boone yard.
cnw4707-1315.jpg An added bonus to the trip was the sight of CNW 4707, a CNW engine
normally assigned to Marshalltown laying over on the East Iowa Wayfreight
			at Boone.
cnw4707-8689.jpg	Also in the mix was CNW 8689, seed for grain power on the Tara Sub,
waiting to meet up with a couple other high horse units to pull a grain train.
6866-6878.jpg CNW 6866 and CNW 6878 depart Boone yard. The goal was to chase the train
out west to meet up with CNW 6811 which was leading MPRCB. Hopefully
I could get a shot with all three paint schemes on three SD40-2s.
6866Jan.jpg At my favorite bridge west of Boone, MPRCB rumbles underneith with
two CNW SD40-2s... and note the manifest cars on the opposing main.
It appears that the opportunity to meet MCBPR has passed??
cnw6811b.jpg My "bad feeling" was right... CNW 6811 passed CNW 6866 right in the
middle of the trees. Here is the MPRCB as it meets a coal train at
			Marion.

cnw6811.jpg I walked up to the MPRCB for a closer roster shot. Note there was still
a little red left in the logo on the nose. 6811 would later be patched
			UP 2960.
