WEEKLY (or daily??) DIGI-PICS

Boone, 11/10/01

When I arrived at Boone, CNW 8828 was just about to pass 8804 at the Hard Road

When was the last time you saw two CNW's leading trains side-by-side?

I was going to meet Dick Tinder at the High Bridge to catch the Amtrak Detour, but it was already coming around the bend at Marion.

They changed crews at the site of the old Yard Office.  Things look barren around here these days.

CNW 8828 eastbound departs the yard, with the signature Boone watertower in the background.

A side view of 8828, in the  "Operation Lifesaver" paint scheme.

Next, the Amtrak detour passed by CNW 8804.  The lead unit is ex-CNW as well.

A closer look at AC4400 8804, the other CNW unit waiting at the Hard Road.

A last look at the Amtrak detour as it continued on east toward Chicago.
