SAFETY AND RELIABILITY returns, Plus ex-MILWAUKEE ROAD action

Ames and Slater, IA

UP 9089, the ex-CNW 8577, splits the signals on the west end of Ames, IA.

Here it is again from the side at Minnesota Ave.  No CNW Heralds, but S&R is still visible.

Outside Madrid, IA, UPY 1394 leads a Woodward-Des Moines manifest.

Here, the UP MP15 rounds the curve at Slater from the ex-MILW to the ex-CNW.

As the MP15 gained speed, it was easy to see there was something wrong...

Here it is speeding along the welded rail, smoking up the whole place.

Back in Ames, CNW 6847 was departing Ames Yard for Clinton, as unit 5 of 5.

A last look at UP 9089 with the CNW S&R logo as it heads toward Boone.
