CNW 8828
Plus, a Three Year Old Update that I forgot to Post:  St. Louis and Boone 2002

8828-barn.jpg A true scene from Iowa: CNW 8828 leading grain past a farmstead and
                    a big red barn

cnw8828-05.jpg Photo of the Month: June... CNW 8828 is about to go under the Hwy
                    210 overpass at Cambridge, IA.
8828-bridge.jpg A Madelia grain train crosses a small trestle north of Chapin, IA.

cnw8828-sheff.jpg At the north end of Sheffield, IA, CNW 8828 slows down for a train
meet, hoping to get a clear track at Flint.
extinguish-this.jpg When me and my UP friends get together and compare stolen number boards,
I will indeed have the coolest thing to bring to the party. This
is an old CNW fire extinguisher from engines, pssgr cars, etc. for
the occasional lantern fire! You just throw the whole thing on the flames.
cnw8828-camb.jpg CNW in grain land...
up8027.jpg A "90MAC" goes by a big ol' grain elevator that we no longer serve because
they don't offer 200 car unit trains. Got to love sun at high noon!
cnw8804.jpg CNW 8804 leads an SP unit and some coal hoppas through Boone in November,
2002. Not a significant find back then, but worth posting now.

milwE2.jpg A "soft" view of a big Milwaukee electric on display at the railroad
(or "transportation") museum in St. Louis

ri-experiment.jpg The Red Hot Chilli Peppers would love to sing about this old Rock Island
"Aero-Train" from the 1960s. The fall colors were nice.

sp9715.jpg This Espee unit wasn't in the museum, but judging from the painted over
graffiti on the side, it has probably been in St. Louis.

up6944.jpg If the UP ever runs another "double DD40" special, odds are good that it
might involve this engine at the St. Louis museum of Transportation.

zephyr.jpg "Fly away on my Zephyr.... we're going to live Forever...." (they were
                    obviously railfans, those Peppers...)
