Chicago NorthWestern

A bunch of Leftovers from late Feb/Early March

Ames

CNW 6871 leads PRCB past the depot at Ames.  Unfortunately, an EB coal train provides an unexpected backdrop.

A UP "flag" unit leads an EB coal stacker near the abandoned elevator on the west end of town.

CNW 6811 gets run-around by the ex-CNW 4705 at East Ames.  Both units were Trad Yellow repaints.

At Mills, CNW 6871 crosses the IC diamond.  The tower is looking awfully sad nowadays.

The latest unit to join the remote control craze in Des Moines is UPY 104.

Boone Area

Two Chicago and NorthWestern units were on the point of a southbound on the Tara Sub.

North of Grand Jct, two CNW's were in a six-unit consist.  6858, 8820, 2 UP's and 2 SP's made up the consist.

At the Shamrock, a very dirty, and very winged UP Dash 9 backs into the yard while a double stack passes by.

UP 4867 kicks up a lot of light snow as it heads eastbound into Boone.

FLAG UNITS!  This matched set of Flagged GE UP Engines went through last week.

CNW 4190 and ex-CNW 4165 were en route from Marshalltown to Ralston via Des Moines.  (Its better not to ask 'why' when it comes to UP.)

UPY 1394 leads a yard job across 63rd Street in West Des Moines.  This is joint IAIS and UP trackages.
